Evaluating Tech Tools
iPhones, iPads, robots, lasers, applications, and so much more. There are so many tools being developed to enhance eduction, how do you choose?
In class, we put together a quick prezi to help make these decisions.
In reviewing a class robot, Hot Cakes, we need to evaluate...
1. Is it accessible to all students? No, it is only accessible one at a time. Although it can be shared, it is hard to give access.
2. Does it develop curiosity? Does it inspire? Yes, Hot Cakes definitely inspires and pushes student to wonder more.
3. Does it match up with standards? Not directly. However, you can use it to meet standards easily.
4. Is it purposeful? Yes, it can teach beginning programming theory.
Overall, I do think toy robots are very useful for classroom learning and exploring. I would highly recommend letting your students explore.
